Q: What is the Make-A-Wish Alabama license plate?
A: The Make-A-Wish Alabama license plate is a distinctive tag that supports granting wishes for children with critical illnesses in Alabama. We need 1,000 commitments to proceed with manufacturing.
Q: How do I commit to a Make-A-Wish Alabama license plate?
A: You can commit by signing up through our official Stripe Payment Link or through our official Make-A-Wish Alabama Commitment Form. Your commitment secures your tag once production begins, no matter which option you choose.
Q: How much does it cost to commit?
A: The commitment fee is $50, which contributes toward the cost of the tag once it’s produced.
Q: I’ve committed. What happens next?
A: Thank you for your support! Here’s what to expect:
- If we reach 1,000 commitments, the plates will go into production.
- Once the plates are available at local licensing offices, you will receive an email with a redemption voucher to present when you pick up your plate.
Q: When will the plates be available?
A: When we reach 1,000 commitments, the plates will be manufactured and available through the state’s license plate issuing offices. The production timeline may vary, but updates will be provided via email.
Q: Can I personalize my Make-A-Wish Alabama specialty car tag?
A: Yes! You can personalize it with up to six letters and numbers.
Q: In what months are license plates renewed?
A: Alabama registers vehicles under a staggered system, January through November, based on the first letter of the owner's last name. People in Alabama can visit the Alabama Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division website to see what month their license plate is renewed.
On that page, they'll find a registration renewal schedule based on the first letter of the vehicle owner's last name, along with special instructions for commercial, leased, and fleet vehicles.
Q: Do I get anything for committing early?
A: Yes! The first 500 committed purchasers will receive a keychain replica of the Make-A-Wish Alabama license plate as a thank-you gift. One keychain per tag ordered.
Q: Who do I contact if I have additional questions?
