This year, nearly 120 Connecticut wish kids are wishing to travel.

Many major airlines enable frequent flyer program members to donate their unused miles to Make-A-Wish, allowing us to turn those miles into airline tickets for wish-related travel. Once miles are donated, they never expire.

Participating airlines include:

• Delta Airlines
• United Airlines
• American Airlines
• JetBlue

Fast facts about travel wishes:

• Percentage of wishes involving travel: more than 70% percent
• Number of round-trip tickets needed to grant wishes involving travel annually nationwide: 50,000
• Average number of miles needed for one domestic round-trip ticket: 150,000
• Average cost of a round-trip ticket: $750

We invite you to support Make-A-Wish in our Miles For Smiles Airline Mile Campaign with NBC and Telemundo Connecticut through miles donations from you, your employees and/or customers. Participation is easy and will help us spark more joy and create more hope for Connecticut wish kids.

From Monday, January 27 through Friday, February 7 donate unused airline miles or make monetary donations ONLINE to help Make-A-Wish Connecticut grant wishes to local children with critical illnesses.
