Just as the world was shutting down in 2020, Laith’s family received devastating news. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor. They rallied around Laith as he endured surgery and chemotherapy. Laith was introduced to Make-A-Wish by his team at Advocate Children's Hospital and shared his wish for a playset with his wish granting volunteers.
Laith likes to be outside, especially when he can climb and slide. He and his dad have spent lots of time hanging in the backyard this summer enjoying this personal play set. Laith’s mom says he is doing well, though still is working through many therapies. According to her, the playset gets him outside and building strength – empowering him with every new achievement on his own.Â
His recovery is still a long road. Laith’s wish helps him physically, and helps the family enjoy spending time together in a safe space built just for him.
