The Trailblaze Challenge is more than a hike.  

It’s a life-changing endurance experience and fundraiser that challenges participants physically and emotionally, and ultimately helps grant wishes to children in Los Angeles County. 

This Spring, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles will return to Big Bear for our annual Trailblaze Challenge. Whether a novice hiker or advanced outdoor enthusiast, participants will have the opportunity to explore new trails, build confidence outdoors, and create life-long friendships all while training for the 28-mile trek along the Pacific Crest Trail. (Don’t worry – we have training hikes throughout the Spring to help prepare you – all of our newbie hikers have completed the Challenge in past years!)

The Trailblaze Challenge is a culmination of this journey, an inspiring hike weekend that brings people together in support of children with critical illnesses. 

By taking the challenge, hikers are asked to fundraise $2,500 to help collectively raise over $250,000 in vital critical funds for 650+ children waiting for their wishes. We have a ton of tips and tricks to easily reach your fundraising goal. Your commitment will provide you with the full Trailblaze experience which starts as soon as you sign up! Friends and family are welcome to attend to cheer you on at the finish line! Please inquire about our special guest rate.  
 

Registered hikers will receive:  

• Access to the private Facebook group for our Trailblaze participants 
• A personalized training program 
• Access to weekly training hikes led by our experienced Hike Leaders
