Theo's Wish, A Wish Granted and a Musical Debut

Music changed eighteen-year-old Theo's life.

He was in the hospital in Atlanta when he was introduced to a program called Songs for Kids, a non-profit that gives children with illnesses and special needs an outlet to express themselves through music. That’s how Theo discovered his dream of becoming a music producer.

Theo had a blood disorder, several strokes and difficulty speaking and had to undergo physical and speech therapies. During his time with Songs for Kids, a new world of self-expression opened up to him, but he would need expensive equipment to make his dream come true: a microphone, a mixer, speakers, a keyboard, a MacBook and more.

Theo had put his wish decision on hold while he was in Atlanta receiving treatment. He told his uncle that he wanted to do it in Idaho because he had his people (his wish granters) out there. "Theo always said how much he was looking forward to coming back to Boise, and it was a motivating factor for him through all the pain, anguish, treatments and triumphs. He would always talk about what he was going to do with his wish, and he loved all the letters of encouragement," his Uncle said.

Upon returning to Idaho, Theo wished for DJ equipment so he could express himself through music and achieve his goal of becoming a music producer. Make-A-Wish® Idaho granted the wish and debuted a now healthy Theo’s talents during the 2020 Walk for Wishes Boise. His music was a big hit, and we expect to hear more mellifluous melodies from him in the future.
