However, picking out what he wanted his wish to be was one thing Diego was never unsure about. A loyal soccer fan, Diego immediately knew he wanted the chance to meet his favorite team, Real Madrid, when he found out he was going out receive a wish. Diego patiently waited to hear if his wish would be granted, with each day growing more and more hopeful. Then one day Diego received a call from his wish granter Brenda, and the news was even better than expected. Not only would he be meeting all the players of his favorite team, but also he would get to travel to Spain for a week to do so!  

Diego’s trip was made even more special because his two brothers were able to join him. The three of them could hardly contain their excitement the morning of the big day. Diego recalls the moment he saw the first player, Luka Modric, enter the room, saying, “I was so excited. I was speechless, and I was in shock.” Diego’s special day was spent meeting all of the players on the team, and having them all sign a soccer ball for him!
