Our chapter remains busy all year long granting wishes for every eligible child, and this summer is an especially exciting wish granting season. 

Keiki from across the state are going to Walt Disney World®, Legoland, and New York City for their wishes come true, and in June, Krayson’s wish to have a therapy clubhouse was granted. This special wish brought many partners from the community together to give this 14-year-old boy with a seizure disorder a sensory space for growth and peace. Mahalo for your continued support to make life-changing wishes like Krayson’s come true. 

Krayson’s wish and so much more is in the Summer issue of Wishful Thinking:  

• Keldyn’s wish to go to Walt Disney World—a chance for this Lahaina boy to make new memories with his ‘ohana after a long and difficult journey fighting leukemia and the loss of his family’s home. 

• Cassidy’s wish to go to New York City and see her favorite Broadway musical. This courageous 16-year-old girl from Honolulu kept her mind on her wish, finding strength to be cleared to travel after a liver transplant. 

• Spotlights on board member Joe Medwetz and Young Leaders Board member Courtney Matsuki. Learn what inspires them to support our mission to transform lives, one wish at a time. 

• Hawaii pediatric neurologist Dr. Keith Abe advocates for community awareness for wish referrals, which provide necessary support to keiki with critical illnesses.  

A heartfelt mahalo to all World Wish Month supporters, especially Maui Divers Jewelry, which donated an entire day of online sales to help grant wishes.  

• Honoring the wish heroes in our community at this year’s gala, WISH! Heroes Unite.
