Part-Time, Hourly – Non-exempt – Up to 20 regular hours per work week
Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is seeking a compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, critical thinking, team-player to serve on the Operations team to assist with data processing, accounts receivable, and other operational functions. This part-time, hourly, non-exempt position (regularly up to 20 hours per week), reports to the Senior Finance and Operations Manager. Compensation is based on skills and experience.
- Compensation: $24.00–$26.00/hr, based on skills and experience
Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area is a wish granting organization. Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our Chapter serves children from Monterey to the Oregon border and works with more than 600 families per year. Each wish is unique and is the dream of a child battling a critical illness. Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fulfills the wishes of children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18 who have critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area was founded in 1984 and has fulfilled the wishes of more than 10,000 children in its 42-year history. The Greater Bay Area chapter is headquartered in Oakland and serves 17 Northern California counties.
- Data entry/gift processing using Salesforce, including committing batches and EFTs
- Create, update, and maintain donor records, ensuring all gift and constituent records are up-to-date and accurate
- Invoice upcoming pledges on regular basis and maintain A/R tracking
- Produce and mail gift acknowledgement letters in a timely manner
- Prepare, print and mail end of year donor receipts for donors
- Office management and operations projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations and Finance Team
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience preferred in an office environment with data entry and/or gift processing experience preferred
- Database experience preferred; Salesforce experience and/or related CRM programs
- Experience in Accounts Receivables, invoicing, and donor communication
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge & experience; ability to utilize Excel
- Knowledge of accounting concepts in relationship to Accounts Receivables
- Proactive, effective communication skills, both written and interpersonal
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers, with ability to work independently
- Ideal candidate is reliable, patient, detail-oriented
- Must be able to prioritize assignments and consistently meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills necessary
