Summary

This position serves as the Chapter’s subject-matter expert and primary liaison with National on all matters related to the CRM system (Salesforce). This role is responsible for database governance, data integrity, standardized reporting, and performance tracking in support of fundraising, programming and operational initiatives.

Key responsibilities include maintaining data to ensure data is accurate and consistently structured to provide staff and leadership with accurate reporting and data pulls, overseeing the gift entry process, supervising the Gift Entry Specialist, and partnering with National to implement, document and communicate system standards and procedures.

This role plays a vital role in ensuring data is reliable and effectively used to support strategic decision-making and advance Make-A-Wish Minnesota’s vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

CRM/Salesforce:

  • Manages data hygiene and integrity, creating and updating constituent records, performing weekly and monthly data monitoring and maintenance, and identifying and overseeing maintenance projects.
  • Develops reports and dashboards within Salesforce and PowerBI in collaboration with the different departments and teams to provide decision-making support to staff and Leadership.
  • Identifies and recommends procedures for the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the database and its use. Document, communicate and maintain procedures.
  • Serves as Salesforce Subject-Matter-Expert and provide training to new staff and current staff as needed.
  • Serves as the Chapter Data Steward, attending monthly calls, completing data projects, and validating data as assigned by National.
  • Partners with departments and team members to manage the segmentation of constituents and create and maintain contact lists for email and mail campaigns.
  • Provides oversight of the gift entry process, including entering in-kind donations and serving as backup for cash gifts, as well as reviewing batches completed by the Gift Entry Specialist for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate and coordinate Salesforce updates, enhancements, and National-led changes.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis and data requests as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages the Gift Entry Specialist position.

Other

  • Provides event support and undertakes projects as needed.
  • Supports and engages volunteers in organizational needs and activities as needed.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or any combination of relevant experience and education that would contribute directly to the position.
  • Three or more years of database maintenance and reporting experience desired.
  • Experience working in complex databases with demonstrated ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrates practical problem-solving, good judgment, excellent communication, and confidential handling of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-service oriented and a team player.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and database management software.
  • Salesforce experience required.
  • Some supervision experience required.
  • Two or more years of working in a nonprofit environment is desired.
