What ways are you involved as a volunteer?
Airport Greeter, Recruitment tables/booths
How did you first find Make-A-Wish?
I have been generally aware of them as an organization for most of my life, but I formally engaged with them first at the Asian Fair West in Plymouth.
How long have you been volunteering with Make-A-Wish MN?
Since July of 2025.
What has been the most rewarding experience of volunteering with Make-A-Wish?
Getting to engage with families from all over the state and playing a small role in adding a little bit of joy to those families stories.
What advice would you give to new volunteers?
Don’t be shy about engaging with the families. They may not vocalize it at the time, but just having people around them ready and willing to help is super meaningful to them.
What story would you share to inspire others to become a volunteer with Make-A-Wish?
I am a special needs child. Through that experience, I understand what it is for a family to get really consumed by a child needing constant care and attention. It consumes, time, energy, money – all things that might otherwise go toward joyful and positive experiences for the child and the family at large. That’s really what Make-A-Wish is all about. They wouldn’t be able to do a fraction of that without volunteers!
