The Medical Outreach and Intake Manager provides essential support to the Program Department by coordinating all aspects of the wish referral intake and processing for the Foundation. This position is also responsible for working with the local medical community to increase awareness about Make-A-Wish Minnesota with a goal of ensuring all eligible children receive a wish. As one of the first contacts a wish family will have with Make-A-Wish Minnesota, this individual must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop a positive rapport with families, volunteers, and medical professionals. To be successful, this individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at a time.
- Creates and executes a strategic medical outreach plan in conjunction with Senior Director of Mission Delivery with the goal of building and maintaining relationships within the community to achieve growing qualified referral goals. For example, local hospitals and treatment facilities and medical oriented foundations/organizations.
- Builds and stewards relationships with referral sources and treatment facilities, including monthly report to referral sources on their contributions.
- Understands medical eligibility criteria and referral process; able to communicate this with medical professionals and potential wish families.
- Manages referral intake, eligibility and data management related to new referrals.
- Adheres to policies, requirements and guidelines for granting of wishes.
- Ensures the accurate and complete data entry of all wish child records in Salesforce database.
- Welcomes and onboards newly qualified wish families.
- Acts as liaison between Wish Granting volunteers and wish families during the initial Wish Granting journey.
- Supports Wish Granting volunteers to prepare for initial visits with families.
- Tracks and processes Wish Granting paperwork received from Wish Granting volunteers.
- If needed, schedules, coordinates, and acts as staff lead at initial visits with families.
- Coordinates wish child memorial gifts.
- Ensures confidentiality of referral sources and wish families.
- Represents Make-A-Wish Minnesota responsibly and professionally.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a hospital setting and/or with medical professionals.
- Knowledge of childhood illnesses and treatment.
- Salesforce experience desired.
- Bilingual Fluent (Spanish, Somali, Hmong or Arabic).
