1. What ways are you involved as a volunteer?

I am a Wish Granter at Make-A-Wish Minnesota! I help with the wish process and keeping up with wish boosts to keeps the kiddos excited about their wishes.

2. How did you first find Make-A-Wish?

I have always known about Make-A-Wish, and had friends involved in it in college, but never found the time to get involved until I graduated! They always had such great experiences, so I was super excited to have the time to get involved.

3. How long have you been volunteering with Make-A-Wish MN?

I have been with Make-A-Wish for a little over a year! I have granted 2 wishes so far, and 2 other kiddos are a few months from completing their wishes!

4. What has been the most rewarding experience of volunteering with Make-A-Wish?

The most rewarding part about volunteering for me has been seeing the whole process develop from start to finish. The kids can get so creative, and then seeing the wish at the end is such an indescribable feeling!

5. What advice would you give to new volunteers?

Come in with an open mind! Each kid has such a different idea than the last, and sometimes things don’t go quite as planned, but that’s okay! It always works out and if you don’t know how to trouble shoot there are always multiple people to ask :)

6. What story would you share to inspire others to become a volunteer with Make-A-Wish?

I would just like to say I have met so many amazing people being a volunteer! I work in healthcare, and I love getting to hear people’s stories and sharing memories, and this role definitely allows you to do that! One of my wish granting partners is in college and entering into the healthcare field, and we have become friends now as well! I highly recommend this role!!
