Wishes Inspired By Real-Life Heroes

Chris Greicius

Can you give $37 today in honor of Chris' wish?

Make-A-Wish started in 1980 with one Arizona boy's wish to be a police officer.

Now, nearly 45 years later, we proudly continue Chris' legacy by granting wishes for Arizona kids who choose to be heroes in our community.

Wishes to be firefighters, police officers, and SWAT team members are inspired by real life heroes who make a difference every day. These brave wish kids dream of stepping into the shoes of those who protect and serve.

Chris' wish began when the Arizona Department of Public Safety worked with a small group of individuals to make him an honorary officer.

He received an official uniform, helped with traffic stops and rode above the city in a helicopter. After his wish, this group of caring individuals wondered how they could bring the same joy to other children.

With just $37.76 in their pockets, they started Make-A-Wish.

"Chris was the happiest I've ever seen him, he came alive again, transforming into a child full of hope and joy," shared his mom, Linda. "Because of this, I continue to remember Chris' wish more than I remember his illness."

"I have seen the incredible impact of a wish through my own eyes – with Chris and the hundreds of thousands of wishes granted since."

Chris' wish demonstrates how one small act of kindness can create a ripple effect to make a big difference.

Donate today to help grant life-changing wishes for our local heroes in the making.
