Getting to know the kids and their families. Getting to know how much the kiddos have overcome and how strong the families are.
5. What advice would you give to new volunteers?
Ask questions if you have any, be yourself with the kids and families, and have fun!
6. What story would you share to inspire others to become a volunteer with Make-A-Wish?
I was working on my very first wish with my partner and getting to know the kiddo and family was amazing. When we were able to reveal the wish was being granted to go to Disney World. We were able to throw the kiddo and his family an amazing party with vendors like an ice cream truck, a car parade, and a donated cake. It was so cool to see everyone come together to give back to this family who had been through so much. It was incredible to see the joy on his face.
