Novant Health donates office space to Make-A-Wish following property sale
Make-A-Wish Central & Western North Carolina has settled into a new SouthPark office space following the sale of its former headquarters to a Nashville developer.
The nonprofit recently moved into 4,990 square feet at the Azalea Building, located at 6324 Fairview Road and owned by The Harris Land Co. Novant Health donated the space to Make-A-Wish as a five-year sublease.

Grand Opening of Make-A-Wish CWNC's New Charlotte HQ
Make-A-Wish® Central & Western North Carolina (Make-A-Wish CWNC) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new chapter headquarters in SouthPark, Charlotte, which has been made possible by the generous support of Novant Health. Recognizing the healing power of a wish, Novant Health has graciously provided space for our chapter to continue granting wishes. The new office, located at 6324 Fairview Rd., provides our team and our wish families with the room we need to grow and continue creating unforgettable memories for wish kids throughout the 51 counties we serve.

Grand Opening of Make-A-Wish CWNC's New Charlotte Office
On December 6, 2023, WSOC-TV (Channel 9) was there on the scene during our grand opening celebration, where Kathy Jetton, our President and CEO, Board Chair Steve Baruch, and the fantastic folks from Novant Health kicked off the festivities with an official ribbon-cutting extravaganza. As we opened our doors, guests were treated to an enchanting tour of our new office in a morning filled with hope, joy, and lots of surprises. But wait, there's more! Santa himself made a cameo, spreading cheer to our wish kids (and guests of honor) in attendance in the most magical way possible.

Capital Subaru of Greensboro 'Shares the Love' with Wish Kid Gabby
Wish kid Gabby, an immensely brave teenage girl from High Point, NC, who is facing a liver condition that recently required a liver transplant, enjoyed a surprise 'Bon Voyage' wish send-off on December 5, 2023. WXLV (ABC 45 Greensboro) captured all of the action at the wish booster event, hosted by Capital Subaru of Greensboro. The surprise bon voyage served as part of Subaru's 'Share the Love' campaign and helped kick off Gabby’s upcoming wish to go to Hawaii in January.

World’s largest cornhole tournament takes over Freedom Park
Major crowds flocked to Freedom Park for the world’s largest cornhole tournament. Put on by Roby Family of Companies and Harris Teeter to benefit Make-A-Wish Central & Western North Carolina, the “Pitchin’ for Wishes” cornhole tournament raises money to grant wishes for hundreds of kids in the region.

Partnership between Make-A-Wish, Renaissance Fair gives 2 young girls the royal treatment
Two princess-loving cousins from Rutherfordton get the royal treatment at the Carolina Renaissance Festival in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina. “My Wish” Returns to SportsCenter July 16 with NFL, MLB, UFC Stars
The award-winning ESPN “My Wish” series returns for its 16th season on Sunday, July 16 and will feature stars from the NFL, MLB and the UFC to fulfill 79 sports-themed wishes for children with critical illnesses. Working together with Make-A-Wish, ESPN produces feature segments on the wishes to air on SportsCenter. Local wish kid, 17-year-old Alden Cary of Davidson, N.C., will be featured in the series.
