Pavla’s early years were marked by a passion for karate, a hobby in which she quickly excelled at. However, life took a sudden turn during a routine class. A kick to the stomach, more painful than any she had encountered before, led to a cancer diagnosis. At 8 years old, Pavla’s active lifestyle was abruptly replaced by surgery and rounds of chemotherapy, leaving her unable to pursue her former hobbies.
As she spent her days recovering at home, movies became a comforting escape, sparking an unexpected interest. Pavla, surrounded by the magic of cinema, began to question the wonders of filmmaking. How were special effects created? What inspired the wardrobe? How did actors get cast? Movies became a source of inspiration, igniting a dream within Pavla — the dream of becoming an actress.
Amid her challenging journey, Make-A-Wish stepped in to grant Pavla a wish. “We tried to fill every single day with good emotions, memories, and experiences. Our Make-A-Wish experience was one of those incredible memories,” said wish mom, Olga. Pavla’s wish was simple yet profound; to explore her newfound dream of becoming an actress. A wish that ultimately gave Pavla the tools to help her pursue an acting career.
Looking forward to her wish gave her hope for the future. “Feeling the anticipation was magical, and I was super excited about my wish coming true,” she shared. Pavla’s wish unfolded as a transformative experience … marked by modeling, photo shoots, acting workshops, and meeting many talented individuals. “My wish experience grew better and better with every single thing,” expressed Pavla, “I had more excitement in those moments than any other time.”
Pavla’s wish journey has boosted her confidence and excitement for auditions, culminating in her most recent achievement — booking a role in a short movie in L.A. While reflecting on the profound impact of the wish, Olga shared, “Pavla changed a lot since her wish was granted, she is now more confident. We can’t describe how grateful we are to have Make-A-Wish in Pavla’s life.”
