What is a Wish Ambassador? 

Wish Ambassadors are a collective group of wish families, alumni, volunteers, donors and supporters who utilize their personal networks to spread awareness and raise funds for Make-A-Wish Arizona.  

As a Wish Ambassador, there are many ways you can support our mission to grant life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses. That's why we created this helpful guide with ways for you to get involved this Giving Tuesday.

What is Giving Tuesday? 

Giving Tuesday is a year-round global movement on Tuesday, November 28 that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. 

This year, your Giving Tuesday donation to Make-A-Wish Arizona will go twice as far. From Nov. 20 – Dec. 1, BOK Financial will match every donation $1 for $1, up to $100,000! We were so excited to have raised $60,000+ last year and this year we have set a goal to raise $100,000 (that's $200,000 with matching funds!) to help grant 20 wishes. 

There are more ways to support Giving Tuesday than donating. Whether it’s telling your personal story, spreading awareness on social media, creating your own fundraiser page, or sharing the Make-A-Wish Arizona mission with your friends and family, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to contribute. 

How Can I Help Grant Wishes?  

1. Create a Fundraising Page 
   We are looking for fundraisers to set up a Wish Your Way online fundraising page to help grant wishes. The individual(s) who receive the largest number of donations or raise the most funds will receive a special Make-A-Wish Arizona swag basket! 
   (Recommended Giving Tuesday goal = $1,000)

2. Record & Share Your Story
   Speaking directly to your followers is one of the most powerful ways you can capture their attention. If you’re comfortable, record a 30-second video of yourself sharing why you are a Wish Ambassador and mention our special Giving Tuesday match challenge. Don’t forget to tag Make-A-Wish Arizona before you upload to your story or feed and link to our personal fundraising page or arizona.wish.org/GivingTuesday.

   The more your friends and family understand why you are involved with Make-A-Wish Arizona and connect with your story, the more likely it is that they will want to support your cause. Plus, sharing your personal connection to Make-A-Wish is one of the best ways you can help raise awareness and funds. If you need some inspiration, you can always share a story from one of our many wish kids!

3. Post on Social Media 
   We’ve created graphics and language so it's super easy for you to select your fundraising goal and share with your networks. Email us at info@arizona.wish.org to get started! Don’t forget to share on LinkedIn as many companies offer to match employee donations!
