Growing our alumni community and engagement
Wish It Forward, a community of children and family members who have received a wish from our chapter, presents a rewarding opportunity for these families to connect with each other and pay it forward by helping more families receive life-changing wishes. For many families, staying engaged can enhance their wish experiences and the long-term benefits they receive from a wish.
Whether it’s sharing their stories, fundraising or donating to support the mission, serving on an advisory council, becoming wish granters, or attending events and reunions—many of our wish kids and their family members enjoy staying involved. They find ongoing hope and joy through connecting with and supporting others who face challenges similar to theirs.
When you donate to our Wish It Forward campaign, you're supporting our efforts to provide a robust welcome to our incoming wish alumni and their families and provide them with the opportunity to connect with our mission in the way that is most meaningful to them.
It's truly a win–win—deepening the sense of community among wish alumni while furthering the Make-A-Wish mission!

Our Goal: $500,000
Our initial goal is to establish the necessary infrastructure for long-term sustainability as we head into our chapter's 40th birthday year in 2024. We plan to formalize membership efforts, spread awareness, and plan events that bring our wish families closer together. As of July 2023, we are only $30,000 away from reaching our goal.
Keys to Success
- Identifying wish families from our nearly 40 years of wish granting that may have lost touch but want to reconnect with us.
- Managing outreach, recruitment, engagement, and retention
- Supporting the opportunities we have for alumni to engage with us: Storytelling, volunteering, fundraising, donating, outreach, and attending events
