World Wish Month Events
It started with a single wish on April 29, 1980: Chris, a 7-year-old boy struggling with leukemia, wanted to be a police officer for a day. Six people answered the call, rallied the entire community, and granted a wish that lifted Chris up during his darkest days.
These original WishMakers were inspired by the impact the wish had on Chris and vowed to do more. A global movement was born. World Wish Month is about wishes and wish makers of all kinds – a nod to our founders, the original WishMakers, and a rallying cry for others to join our mission. Because of WishMakers, this chapter has granted over 6,000 wishes since our inception here in North Carolina in 1985. But we need more to ensure that every eligible child receives their wish.

Duck Donuts sells Wish Rubber Ducks for Wish Kids

On April 22, Duck Donuts will launch a limited-edition Wish Rubber Duck in honor of wishes. Sold in-store only, $1 for each special edition Wish Rubber Duck will be donated back to Make-A-Wish to help grant more wishes.
