Make-A-Wish Central & Western North Carolina Announces New CEO, Kathy Jetton

Make-A-Wish® Central & Western North Carolina today announced that the Board of Directors has selected Kathy Jetton as its new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective October 5, 2020.

Jetton is an accomplished leader with more than 13 years of hands-on, non-profit experience, having led overall strategy, fundraising and event planning initiatives for multiple Charlotte-based nonprofits. She most recently served as the Regional Executive Director for North and South Carolina at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“I’m ecstatic to have Kathy join us,” said Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina Board Chair Mick Slattery. “She’s a perfect fit bringing her understanding of our community, as well as the ability to creatively connect people and organizations to the Make-A-Wish mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We’re excited to see her leading the organization forward with her energy and excitement to adapt, innovate, and guide us, especially during these unprecedented times.”

Prior to her role at St. Jude, Jetton spent over a decade at American Heart Association where she managed a budget of over $4 million in fundraising through year-round campaigns including the Greater Charlotte Heart Ball, Heart Walk and Go Red for Women Luncheon.

Jetton succeeds Amy Brindley, who departed the chapter after eight successful years to accept a position at Make-A-Wish America.
