Avengers Assemble! Meet wish kid Edwin! In our mind, he’s the latest Avenger to join the group for all his bravery. Edwin is a sweet, tough 12-year-old from Liberty, North Carolina who is living with lymphoma. In his free time, Edwin likes to play soccer, ride his bike, hangout with friends, eat Chicken Alfredo and Chinese food, and cook with his mom. “The Bad Guys” book series by Aaron Blabey is his favorite read for the humor and the “Avengers: Infinity War” movie is his favorite ultimate Marvel showdown. Edwin is a longtime loyal Marvel fan and loves all the heroes, from Star Wars to Black Panther.

During the long days of chemotherapy in the hospital, Edwin draws strength and courage from Black Panther, his favorite, and other heroes in the Marvel multiverse. That’s why for his wish, Edwin knew he wanted to get as close as he could to meeting them… He wished to go to Universal Studios to be immersed in all things Marvel! 

At Universal Studios, Edwin met loved Marvel heroes and more beloved movie characters like Alex from Madagascar and several Minions. He enjoyed donning a few Marvel costumes and slayed many dangers from the cosmic shadows. Edwin enjoyed the down time and big fun with his family, along with the sweet treats at the park. 

Edwin receives monthly chemotherapy treatments to help fight off his lymphoma. Wishes are an opportunity for children to leave behind the pain, stress, and anxiety of treatment rooms and hospitals.
