Summary

The position is responsible for overall database maintenance and management, providing accurate data in a way that helps staff and the board of directors make better decisions, and assisting chapter staff in integrating technology into their daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Understand, manage, and improve database standards for donor, event, volunteer and wish data in compliance with national standards of use.  
  • Efficiently create and update constituent records, code and enter gifts accurately and timely, import data using existing and creating new import profiles, create and manage segmented mailing lists, perform monthly data monitoring and maintenance, and identify and oversee maintenance projects.
  • Assist with maximizing the functionality of the database, identify best practices, and implement processes to effectively manage all stakeholder data.  
  • Ensure integrity and proper management of data, including administration of security. 
  • Create queries, exports and reports as needed to assist in process efficiency and decision making.  Utilize Crystal Reports and PowerBI for building customized reports.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze data and provide decision support.
  • Liaison and primary manager for all national technology projects, including conversion from Raiser’s Edge to Salesforce CRM system. 
  • Work with national and other chapters to leverage existing tools and learning opportunities.
  • Create and maintain database procedure manuals.  Provide database training as needed to current and new staff.
  • Communicate and manage change strategy in support of project execution and rollout, including development of training materials.
  • Assist Donor Care Specialist and staff with proposal creation and portfolio management
  • Work with development and marketing teams to manage segmentation of all donors 
  • Responsible for evaluation of key analytics around digital media, marketing initiatives, development activities, wish process, and volunteer program. 
  • Partner with teams across the organization to cultivate outcomes, metrics, and KPIs in support of chapter goals.
  • Provide event support and undertake projects, as needed.  Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or any combination of relevant experience and education that would contribute directly to the position.
  • Two+ years of database management and analysis experience required. Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce experience desired.  Experience with Power BI Platform is preferred.
  • Above average data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with a high level of accuracy required. 
  • Able to work independently and with a team.  Desire to support team goal achievement.
  • Intellectually curious and passionate about solving challenging problems
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database management software.
  • Two or more years working in a nonprofit environment desired.
