Swish! That's the sound that wish kid Dani Jo loves to hear.
Dani Jo is a bright, intelligent 15-year-old from Mount Airy with a respiratory disorder. In her free time, Dani Jo not only watches basketball but thoroughly studies the game, plays basketball-themed video games, and talks with her dad about players, teams, trades, and everything in between. Suffice to say, basketball is her passion.
The respiratory disorder that Dani Jo currently has results in difficulty breathing and eating, among other complications. Needless to say, this brave teen has had her fair share of hospital visits and doctors’ appointments. However, Dani Jo's love for basketball always helps keep her positive and upbeat.
"Dani Jo researches basketball every day. She knows more about it than most," said her dad.
When asked about her wish, Dani Jo knew exactly what it had to involve… Basketball! So, she wished to attend a Charlotte Hornets game and meet all her favorite players. At Spectrum Stadium, wish kid Dani Jo was able to view the game up close, while also learning more about basketball strategy after meeting with the Charlotte Hornets coaches. She smiled throughout her entire wish and left the stadium with an even deeper passion for basketball and an official signed ball by the team.
