Meet wish kid Alisa, who likes to focus on the positive.
Meet wish kid Alisa, an 11-year-old girl from Hamlet, NC, who likes to focus on the positive. She loves “Pete the Cat” books, the “Encanto” movie, and the TV show “Miraculous” about two normal teens who transform into superheroes to fight evil. The show airs on the Disney Channel, which may have influenced her wish. Alisa’s wish is to go to Walt Disney World®.
In her free time, Alisa likes playing games, like Jenga and Cops & Robbers, and listening to music. Cheerleading, hide & seek, and finding Easter eggs are among Alisa’s favorite activities. Spaghetti, Cheetos, and Oreos are favorite comfort foods, good for extra rough days.
Alisa recently had a bone marrow transplant. Incredibly, she remains extremely upbeat and kind, despite years of chronic pain and heaps of doctor’s visits and medicine interrupting her childhood. But she doesn’t make family life all about her and her ailments, as she has four sisters.
When talking about her wish to go to Disney World, Alisa knew she wanted to meet princesses – and dress-up as a princess, too. Preferably in the color purple. The idea of traveling with her family, going to Disney World, and seeing princesses brought out Alisa’s beautiful smile, contagious to those around her. Talk of roller coasters made it disappear, as she’s not a roller coaster girl. The smile reemerged with talk of the many other wonderful, fun opportunities available to enjoy for a little girl being granted her wish.
