What ways are you involved as a volunteer?
I am a wish granter. I usually take on one to two wish kids at a time. I also attend events. I loved Walk for Wishes this past summer and plan to try to attend the Wish Ball gala as well.

How did you first find Make-A-Wish?
I found Make-A-Wish years ago when my nephew received his wish during his cancer treatment. I was inspired on that day!

How long have you been volunteering with Make-A-Wish?
I've been volunteering for about a year.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of volunteering with Make-A-Wish?
The most rewarding experience so far was my first send-off party. It went so well and to see the joy on the family’s faces was priceless.  They enjoyed hanging out with each other so much. The volunteer characters were the icing on the cake!

What advice would you give to new volunteers?
Go all in and have fun with it! Get to know the family really well during the initial interview so you get lots of wish boost ideas.

What story would you share to inspire others to become a volunteer with Make-A-Wish?
My nephew received his wish many years back and the volunteers that were there for our family will never be forgotten. Don’t underestimate what a difference you can make! It is not an overwhelming commitment…just take the first step!
