What ways are you involved as a volunteer?
I am a wish granter, meet and greeter and I volunteer at various Make-A-Wish events including the Just Cause Golf Tournament.

How did you first find Make-A-Wish?
My boyfriend passed away of cancer at age 43 and we decided to donate his memorials to Make-A-Wish, as he hated seeing children going through what he went through.

How long have you been volunteering with Make-A-Wish Minnesota?
I have been volunteering since 2013.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of volunteering with Make-A-Wish?
Meeting the wish kiddos and their families, as they are all amazing people.

What advice would you give to new volunteers?
Learn from the wish kiddos and their families about what really matters in life!

What story would you share to inspire others to become a volunteer with Make-A-Wish?
We had one wish child with brain cancer who never really showed much emotion with us throughout the process. I had always heard about the power of a wish, but when he returned from his wish to go to Disney World I saw it firsthand. It was about 11:30 p.m. and the entire family looked wiped out, except the wish kiddo, who was grinning from ear to ear with pure joy! That moment solidified my passion for Make-A-Wish and the feeling of making a positive impact.
