Staff Spotlight: Trin Peterson
What is your position, and how long have you been working at Make-A-Wish Minnesota?
My position is Executive Assistant. I am new to Make-A-Wish Minnesota. I started in November 2023.
What is the most rewarding aspect of working at Make-A-Wish?
Knowing that wishes support and encourage kids and their families dealing with critical illness. This brings hope into some tough situations and that is priceless.
What is one of your favorite wish experiences?
Three to four years ago, friends of mine had a son that was a wish kid. He had a congenital heart defect and had several open-heart surgeries before he was 6 years old. His wish was to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando. The family went and had the best time. Shortly after they returned, the wish child ended up in the hospital awaiting surgery. He passed away before his surgery could take place. The family treasures those memories made on his wish trip. Although this is a very sad story, Make-A-Wish did make a difference in this family’s life.
Are there any personal, fun facts you'd like to share?
I love animals and steak.
What advice (if any) would you give to new volunteers?
I think I am too new to give advice!
