What is your position, and how long have you been working at Make-A-Wish Minnesota?
I started as a Gift Entry Specialist in early August 2023. 

What is the most rewarding aspect of working at Make-A-Wish?
I love working somewhere that is making a positive impact in the community, surrounded by co-workers who are proud to be part of such a great mission! I also love getting to see/hear wish journeys from beginning to end and learn of the joy they bring to so many families.

What is one of your favorite wish experiences?
Recently I heard about Owen's wish to go on a roadtrip to Dinosaur Valley State Park in Texas with his family!

Are there any personal, fun facts you'd like to share?
Exploring a new park, visiting a new coffee shop or trying out a new restaurant are my favorite ways to enjoy the weekend. Fall is my favorite season, and Halloween is my favorite holiday! My husband and I love to decorate for spooky season and I personally enjoy coming up with creative family costumes (even better if the costumes call for some DIY crafting)!

What advice (if any) would you give to new volunteers?
Remember that each child is different and each family is different. No two wish journeys will be exactly alike. Practice active listening and avoid assumptions with wish requests. Allow the wish child and their family to be the experts of their lives, while you play the role of the guide through the process.
