What is your position, and how long have you been working at Make-A-Wish Minnesota?

I’m the Medical Outreach Manager and joined Make-A-Wish Minnesota in September 2025. Before moving to Minnesota, I worked with the Illinois chapter.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working at Make-A-Wish?
Seeing the joy a wish brings not just to the child, but to their entire family and community!

What is one of your favorite wish experiences?
When I was in Chicago, a child wished to be an El train conductor (the train that runs above the streets in the city). The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) was eager to help and had a special Make-A-Wish train just for him! When he arrived, he thought he was just going for a ride.  To his surprise he was greeted by extended family, friends, Make-A-Wish staff, and his medical team. He and his brother "drove" the train around the city loop and made all the announcements that they had memorized from countless rides.  It was magical day for everyone involved!

Are there any personal, fun facts you'd like to share?
When I'm not the Uber driver for my children, I enjoy being outside in nature. I love hiking and downhill skiing and winter is my favorite season! Bring on the snow!

What advice (if any) would you give to new volunteers?
The magic doesn't only happen when a wish is granted, it’s in every step of the journey. Enjoy each connection along the way!
