My Life Now: Elizabeth's wish inspired her future

Elizabeth Rohrer joined our staff as Events Manager last August. Since then, she has planned and executed our very successful Wish Ball gala and Walk For Wishes. Elizabeth is not only a dedicated Make-A-Wish Minnesota staff member, she is also a wish alum!

After being diagnosed with leukemia at age 5, Elizabeth’s wish to travel to the Walt Disney World® Resort with her family was granted in 1998. She says, “it still is the best trip I have taken in my life and a memory that has stayed with me forever.”

Today, Elizabeth is cancer-free and helping to grant wishes for Minnesota children. Now working for Make-A-Wish Minnesota Elizabeth says, “meeting with volunteers and wish families is the most rewarding part of my job.”

"My wish gave me the hope I needed to get through the difficult times during my cancer treatments and made me believe that anything is possible. I know that I would not be where I am today without my wish experience. I feel so grateful to be able to give back to Make-A-Wish through my career and play a part in granting wishes for kids just like me."

Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her puppy, Ellie, and describes herself as a “professional TV watcher” who loves all things comedy. Elizabeth is still a big Disney fan and hopes to travel to the Walt Disney World® Resort again soon.

We are so lucky to have Elizabeth as part of our Make-A-Wish Minnesota team!
