Intern Spotlight: Maddi C.

Maddi stands smiling in a stripped black and white shirt with red curly hair in the Make-A-Wish Minnesota office in front of a blue wall with the Make-A-Wish decal.

What is your hometown?
Byron, Minnesota.

Where are you attending college and what is your major?
I am a senior at Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota. I am double majoring in Psychology and Health Humanities.

What excited you about interning with Make-A-Wish Minnesota?
As a wish alumni, I was so excited to become a part of such an amazing team at Make-A-Wish. Being able to intern at an organization that brings so much joy and excitement to children and families makes me very happy. I loved being able to bring my Make-A-Wish journey full circle.

If you could pick one job to do forever (and be guaranteed all the money you need), what job would it be?
I would pick my future career as a Child Life Specialist. I love to play and help children and families in the hospital, so this job would be perfect.

If you could be a Disney® character, who would you be and why?
I would be Merida from Brave. She is always determined to write her own story in life without compromising her values. She believes that with enough training and determination, you can do anything!

If you were granted a wish, what would it be? -OR- What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I have been lucky enough to have a wish. My wish was to go to Hawaii and it was a trip of a lifetime. One place that is on my bucket list is Fort Worth, Texas to see the Professional Bull Riders World Finals. My family and I have traveled to watch the PBR teams series, but have never gotten to see the finals. This would be a great experience to have.

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
One thing that people would be surprised to know about me is that I was able to be a Minnesota Twins honorary captain for one game. I was able to meet multiple Minnesota Twins players and coaches, while also being on the field for the national anthem.
