Summary

The Director of Corporate Partnerships has the vital role of developing and managing existing and new corporate relationships both locally and nationally, managing the overall strategy of corporate-led campaigns, including but not limited to, event sponsorships, wish sponsorships, promotions, and employee giving. This position will report directly to the VP of Development and collaborate closely with the CEO, Marketing Director, Wish Team and Manager of External Events.

Responsibilities

Manages a portfolio of 90-100 relationships with local and national corporate donors and prospects at various stages of the cultivation cycle, from identification through solicitation and stewardship.

Existing Partnership Management

  • Manage activations and deliverables for each local and national corporate partnership.
  • Maintain regular contact with the national office Corporate Alliances and Corporate Sponsorship teams to effectively manage local activation of national campaigns.
  • Maintain an annual corporate donor recognition program.
  • Renew and increase internal event and wish sponsorships ranging from $7500 - $100k to reach fundraising goals.
  • Secure and facilitate cause related marketing partnerships, customer donation and consumer packaged goods (CPG) campaigns, etc. with support from the Marketing Team.

New Partnership Acquisition

  • Conduct prospect research on businesses and corporations throughout the state to identify alignment of philanthropic interest, giving history, and fit with our mission.
  • Actively seek and solicit new corporate partners to maximize partnership potential both locally and nationally.
  • Seek new sponsorship partners for internal events (i.e., Walk For Wishes, Wish Ball).
  • Networks with organizations such as Rotaries and Chambers of Commerce to build chapter presence in the corporate community across the state.

Wishmakers Council (WMC)

  • Support the VP of Development in managing the corporate and business relationships of the Wishmakers Council (a.k.a. Junior Board) to reaching their fundraising goals.
  • Attend meetings and build strong relationships with the WMC members.

General Operations

  • Work with VP of Development to set annual corporate contributions fundraising goals and strategies.
  • Represent Make-A-Wish Minnesota at various public speaking engagements related to building new and supporting existing corporate relationships.
  • Fulfill partnership agreements of licensing, sponsorship benefits, invoicing, and payment collection in a timely manner.
  • Track prospect and donor activity in Salesforce – including correspondence, phone calls, meetings, cultivation events, and acts of stewardship.
  • Works in collaboration with events and marketing teams on corporate sponsorship involvement in key events and activities.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on event programmatic components, collateral design, social media strategy and all wish kid/wish alumni engagement.
  • Adheres to all Make-A-Wish America performance standards and Make-A-Wish’s internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Non-profit fundraising, corporate and/or sales experience preferred (3+ years)
  • Need a candidate who is willing to see the partnerships through from conversation to execution and meet long-term and short-term deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative work ethic with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Salesforce, Adobe, and Microsoft Suite products
  • Access to own transportation and the ability to travel and provide staff support for evening and weekend events
