What is your position, and how long have you been working at Make-A-Wish Minnesota?
I have served as the Marketing Coordinator since October 2021. I support our staff with design projects, social media, website, newsletter and promotional materials.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working at Make-A-Wish?
Knowing that each day I am serving a greater purpose and helping to transform lives!

What is one of your favorite wish experiences?
The first wish I ever had hands-on experience with was in college at the University of Minnesota, through my sorority and Make-A-Wish national partner, Chi Omega. We hosted a wish party sendoff for a young girl named Rissy before her wish trip to go to Spain! Rissy, her family and her gymnastics team all came to the sorority house where there were traditional Spanish dishes and decorations, as well as an appearance from the University of Minnesota Gymnastics team! Rissy and her friends had a wonderful time meeting collegiate gymnasts, performing tumbling routines together and taking turns at the piñata. I will never forget the happiness everyone felt seeing Rissy and her family that day. It was clear that for a moment the family was filled with joy and hope, not worry or stress. That experience stuck with me, and is one of the many reasons I decided to pursue a career at Make-A-Wish Minnesota.

Are there any personal, fun facts you'd like to share?
I enjoy traveling and hope to explore more destinations in the future. One of my favorite trips was to Peru, where I spent four days hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It was an incredible experience!

What advice (if any) would you give to new volunteers?
You will gain confidence in your role with time. Don't be afraid to approach staff with questions and use the volunteer resources. The most important thing is that you are giving support to children in need. You provide the backbone for all our efforts, and we are so thankful for you!
