As a mom, we often do things we would not choose to do. Ever.

I have held Zoe down for countless procedures and blood draws. I have spent many sleepless nights in the hospital hoping and praying for an uneventful night.

My heart breaks every time Zoe says, “Is it going to hurt?” Knowing it probably will hurt.

Nothing could prepare me for Zoe’s wish experience. The pure joy and happiness were unmatchable.

We got to forget about labs, hospitals, and appointments for five whole days. Zoe smiled and ate ice cream every day! The future is uncertain with Zoe, but this wish allowed us to focus on the now.

I will never forget that trip for as long as I live. I know Zoe won’t either.
