Christopher’s wish enables him to safely camp with his family
A very enthusiastic 7-year-old boy pulled up to General RV in Mt. Clemens and excitedly jumped out of his family's car. Christopher's wish was being granted!
Due to Christopher's seizure disorder, he needs to be within 40 minutes of a hospital. A pop-up camper will enable his family to go camping at an area park and still be able to quickly get to a hospital if needed.
"He loves camping," Christopher's mom, Debora, said. "The look in his eyes was something I have never seen before. It was the look of hope, excitement and anticipation. His wish is something he can talk about with all the people in his life.”
Christopher can't wait to spend the rest of the summer going to the woods, playing games with his family and roasting marshmallows.
"We are looking forward to some downtime," Debora said. "Because of the coronavirus, we have basically been trapped in the house. It's just such a special gift for Christopher. He's going to love being in this camper. Every summer is going to be special because of Make-A-Wish."
Christopher and his family went camping at an area park the day after picking up the pop-up camper.
"This [wish] is life-changing," Debora said after their first outing with the camper. "He seems to have a whole new lease on life! Words cannot begin to express how grateful we are."
