Your participation in Walk & Roll For Wishes will support Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island and help us move closer to our vision of granting a life-changing wish for every medically eligible child in our two-state community.
Participants are invited to walk or roll 2.9 miles anytime between April 24–26, wherever it works best for you!
Teams can also opt to join at one of our regional walking hubs:
- Worcester State - Saturday, April 25: 2:00 PM
John Coughlin Field, 486 Chandler St, Worcester, MA 01602
- University of Rhode Island - Sunday, April 26, 12:00 PM
URI Quad, 10 Ranger Rd, Kingston, RI 02881
Whether you choose to fundraise through our Walk & Roll For Wishes page or simply participate in the event by completing your 2.9 miles, you'll help bring hope and joy to local wish children. While fundraising is encouraged, especially for teams and community groups, it is not required. All are welcome to join and be part of this special event.
Why 2.9 miles? This distance pays tribute to April 29, the date of the granting of the wish that inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish. Seven-year-old Chris Greicius' wish to be a police officer, fulfilled on April 29, 1980, in Phoenix, Arizona, united his local community and sparked the idea for Make-A-Wish. April 29 is now celebrated as World Wish Day in honor of Chris and his wish.
Register now to become part of our family-friendly Walk & Roll For Wishes that will unite a caring community of people here in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, to help ensure that no child waits even one unnecessary day to experience the hope and joy that a wish brings.
