Help local kids in MA and RI by donating your car, boat, or RV. Make-A-Wish offers free towing and tax rewards for your vehicle donation. Your support will help wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. A wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey and our vision is to grant the wish of every eligible child. Wishes provide hope, strength, and joy to wish children, their families, and entire communities. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Since its founding over 40 years ago, Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island has fulfilled the wishes of over 11,000 local children. How to Donate Your Car in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
1.Go online or call 855-CAR-WISH (227-9474) to fill out the donation form. Provide us with some information about your vehicle and where it will be picked up.
2. A towing agent will contact you within two to three business days to arrange a pickup time most convenient for you.
3. After your car is sold, you’ll receive an email that includes a tax receipt.
What vehicles can I donate?
We accept all types of running and non-functioning car donations. Trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, planes, heavy machinery, trailers and RV's are accepted on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions about a vehicle you’d like to donate, please call 855-CAR-WISH (227-9474).
Do I need a title to donate my car to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island?
If you can’t find your title, you’ll have to obtain a duplicate title. Click here to find your state’s specific requirements and procedures.
What do I do with my title once I have it?
When you donate a car to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, you’ll sign your title over to Advanced Remarketing Services. You will print and sign your name as the seller. If you have any questions about filling out your title, give us a call at 855-CAR-WISH (227-9474).
How much money does Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island receive from my car donation?
Our partners at Advanced Remarketing Services return 60-80% of the gross selling price for your car donation back to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the highest of any vehicle donation program!
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes! Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you will receive an email with a tax receipt for your car donation which includes:
- The gross selling price of your car, if sold for greater than $500.
- Vehicle year, make, model, and VIN.
- A statement that the vehicle was sold at arms-length between two unrelated parties.
- A statement that no goods or services were received in return for your donation.
