Located in Plainville, MA, An Unlikely Story is a bookstore, cafe, and community space where stories come to life. Founded in 2015 by best-selling author Jeff Kinney and his wife, Julie Kinney, it is built on the values of kindness, inclusion, and creativity and hosts a wide range of events, from small story times to best-selling author tours.
An Unlikely Story’s mission is rooted in the Kinneys’ dedication to uplifting others, and their commitment has led to a meaningful partnership with Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. As an in-kind supporter, the bookstore has hosted events including wish reveals, Youth Leadership Council meetings, and the 2024 Make-A-Wish Volunteer Summit, and contributes items and experiences to our fundraising auctions.
