2022 Walk for Wishes

Walk for Wishes^® is a nationwide Make-A-Wish fundraiser that supports granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. It’s a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, companies and individual donors. Both long-time wish granters, the Los Angeles Rams and the LA Lakers are generous supporters of Make-A-Wish Greater LA and are sponsoring this community event. Make-A-Wish Greater LA’s supporters and wish families will be in attendance at the first in-person Walk for Wishes in LA since 2019. For community members who would like to attend or start a Walk team and fundraise for wish kids, you can register online or on the day-of!

Due to the pandemic, there are an unprecedented number of children in LA County waiting for their wishes. By joining Walk for Wishes in LA, our local community is ensuring that no child in LA County waits even one unnecessary day to experience the hope and joy that a wish brings. The event will feature wish kid ambassadors, LA Lakers cheerleaders and activations, Rams family-friendly football activations, music, food trucks, and a champagne/mimosa station.

Event Schedule:
8:00am - Team Check-In & Registration
8:30am - Wish Village Opens
9:00am - Opening Ceremony and Warm Up with the Laker Girls
9:30am - Walk for Wishes Begins!
11:00am - Post-Walk Program
12:00pm - Event Closes

Additional Details:

• The walk route encircles the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Each loop is approximately 1 mile. You can decide how many miles you want to walk but 3 laps around the Coliseum makes 5k! Healthy competition with your teammates or family is encouraged.
• We are going green! Bring your water bottle and fill up at one of our water filling stations.
• No outside food or beverage is allowed unless for medical reasons. Enjoy tasty offerings from some of LA's most beloved food trucks!
• We suggest light clothing, sneakers or comfortable shoes, sunglasses, hats and don't forget the sunscreen!
• Service dogs or service dogs-in-training for guests with disabilities are allowed. All other animals are prohibited.
• Event parking will be at the blue structure at the LA Coliseum (the closest entrance is located at W. 39th St and S. Figueroa St.). Parking is $15 per vehicle.

As a chapter, Make-A-Wish Greater LA is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for our community. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and California Department of Public Health strongly recommends mask-wearing in crowded settings and encourage those who are eligible to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As our wish children are a more vulnerable population, many of whom are immunocompromised, we ask you to take a cautious approach in social distancing and using your discretion in safely interacting at the event.
