Los Angeles, CA – Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles is announcing the distinguished honorees for its highly anticipated 2024 Masquerade Wish Gala, taking place on October 19, 2024 at the Fairmont Century Plaza. The annual event will bring together a community of industry leaders, wish families, corporations and celebrities dedicated to transforming the lives of children facing critical illnesses through the power and magic of wishes.

This year, the organization is privileged to recognize the following outstanding individuals:

Alumni Leadership Award - Ashley Park

Ashley Park, a Wish Alum and Critics choice, Grammy and Tony-nominated multihyphenate, continues to have a remarkable career in the entertainment industry and devotes time to her advocacy and philanthropic work.

“When I was 15, I was diagnosed with Leukemia and, after many long months of going through treatment and being isolated in the hospital, my wish took my whole family to New York to see a Broadway show. After many months apart, it brought my family joy to experience this wish together.

When children and their families are dealing with unplanned hospital stays and uncomfortable treatments, a wish can give children a chance to reclaim a piece of their childhood and a sense of control. This wish changed the course of my life. Make-A-Wish taught me by example how to care and give to others when they need it the most.” Ashley shared about her wish experience.

Philanthropic Leader Award - Kendra Scott

Kendra Scott, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of her namesake global lifestyle brand, Kendra Scott, best-selling author, and philanthropist, will be honored with the Philanthropic Leader Award for her exceptional generosity and philanthropic endeavors.

"It’s such an honor to receive the Philanthropic Leader Award from Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles. At Kendra Scott, we believe that giving back is the truest form of success. For years, we’ve proudly partnered with Make-A-Wish at a regional level through our stores, and we couldn’t be more excited to have expanded that partnership nationally this year, helping bring hope and joy to children and their families through the incredible power of wishes”, said founder and philanthropist Kendra Scott.

Power of a Wish Award - Kev Zoryan

Kev Zoryan, recently retired as Managing Director and Head of US Asset Management for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing and is a dedicated and founding member of the Real Estate Cabinet at Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles.

Award-winning actor, comedian and wish granter Anthony Anderson will host the Masquerade Wish Gala which will also feature a special appearance by Emmy award-winning actress, producer, and dancer Julianne Hough.

Since its inception in 1983, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles has granted over 10,000 wishes, providing children with a renewed sense of hope, strength, and normalcy. A wish has a profound impact on a child and their family - 90% of wish parents shared that the wish experience helped relieve their family from traumatic stress and 90% of medical providers say a wish increases compliance with treatment.* The event serves as a platform to honor those who have contributed significantly to this cause.

"Ashley, Kendra and Kev are remarkable individuals whose dedication, passion and contributions have enriched the lives of many," said Viviane Krief Woodcock, Gala Co-Chair and Board Member of Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles. "Their support and commitment enable us to continue granting life-changing wishes that provide hope, strength and joy to local children battling critical illnesses."

The 2024 Masquerade Wish Gala promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with inspiration, entertainment and philanthropy. Funds raised from the event will directly benefit wish-granting efforts in the Greater Los Angeles area, making a meaningful impact on the lives of local children and their families.
