William was facing a neuromuscular disorder that brought daily challenges when he was referred to Make-A-Wish Illinois in 2011. His wish to visit Hawaii to see a live volcano made him feel stronger than ever. 

Now 29, William is thriving as a trial lawyer, proving that strength and determination can take you anywhere. Looking back on his wish, it was an opportunity for him to be recognized for something other than his illness. 

His message to future wish kids is simple and powerful: “Enjoy every moment as you never know what the future has in-store for you.”
