T'Aubrae and his family enjoyed an incredible day

T'Aubrae's wish brings Peoria community together

Joyful, energetic and full of life, T’Aubrae is the light of his family. Diagnosed with a life-threatening gastrointestinal disorder, he often has to spend time in the hospital or in a transitional care facility. But when he’s home, he most enjoys singing and dancing with his supportive siblings.

“He’s overcome a lot of obstacles, but you might not even know anything is wrong because he is so bright,” his mom Shyterria said in a local media interview.

T’Aubrae wished for a shopping spree to pick out things that make him happy and comfortable. Make-A-Wish volunteers were excited to create an unforgettable experience for him and his family.

Kicked off with a surprise car brigade and fire and police car escort, volunteers arranged for an incredible day for T’Aubrae’s shopping wish. He traveled by limousine to his favorite stores, where each provided personal shoppers and VIP checkout lanes for their very special guest. The schedule even included a short play break at a nearby park.

A day filled with smiles, new friends and family love ended with their favorite, a crab boil takeout dinner.

“This is a day he’ll never forget,” Shyterria said.

T’Aubrae’s volunteers have plans to meet up with the family again to help assemble electric cars for him and his brother to enjoy outside when the weather allows.
