Make-A-Wish® Illinois Welcomes Steven Stivers as Chief Operating Officer
CHICAGO (July 18, 2024) – Make-A-Wish® Illinois is pleased to announce Steven Stivers as the new Chief Operating Officer for the statewide organization dedicated to creating life-changing wish experiences for children with critical illnesses.
With experience including leadership roles in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, Stivers most recently served as executive director at The Alden Foundation in Chicago. His background includes retail and hospitality companies before transitioning to increasing levels of responsibility and oversight in the non-profit sector, mostly in shelter and housing related organizations supporting families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
As a member of the executive leadership team at Make-A-Wish Illinois, Stivers will help to oversee the direction and operation of one of the largest Make-A-Wish chapters in the world. This fiscal year, Make-A-Wish Illinois will grant more than 750 wishes to children statewide through the support of hundreds of volunteers and with an estimated operating budget of approximately $16 million.

Stivers holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Arizona State University and a master's degree in public administration with a focus on nonprofit management from Grand Canyon University. He resides in the north suburbs of Chicago with his wife and two daughters.
