Make-A-Wish Illinois announces Kate Vittore of Libertyville as the recipient of the 2022 Volunteer Fundraiser, Walk for Wishes for excellence in volunteerism in fundraising to support Make-A-Wish.

A volunteer since 2020, Kate was familiar with Make-A-Wish through her sorority Chi Omega, whose national philanthropy is Make-A-Wish. She quickly jumped right in and became the event chair for the Walk for Wishes at Busse Woods and an active wish granter.

Kate’s leadership, creativity and hard work on the Walk Committee has helped grow the event, bring in new partners and donors and grow our relationship with Chi Omega alumnae. She has brought in significant new sponsorship for the event as well as new in-kind donors and new walk teams.

“Her efforts have impacted our community in growing fundraising efforts and community connections to further our mission,” said Samantha Schreiber, walk manager for Make-A-Wish Illinois.

About why she continues to be involved with Make-A-Wish after her college years, Kate said that she likes that you can see firsthand what a difference Make-A-Wish makes. As both a fundraiser and a wish granter, she has the full perspective on how important each part is for creating life-changing wishes.
