Isaac Explores Disney

Isaac a silly, outspoken 8-year-old from Round Lake Beach was diagnosed with leukemia. His favorite thing to do is go on family vacations. When he learned he could have a wish, he shared his dream to go to Walt Disney World.

Make-A-Wish volunteers worked with the local fire department to give Isaac a special parade in anticipation of his wish. And then, Isaac and family were off to Orlando.

Waiting through his illness, treatment and the pandemic, Isaac was beyond excited to be able to experience everything he could with his parents and two siblings this summer. They enjoyed morning swims in the resort pool, going to as many attractions as possible, and appreciating each second of traveling together as a family.

Isaac’s mother, Clarissa, is sure he will remember this for the rest of his life. It was special for her to see him bond with his siblings and have fun without worrying about any doctor visits.

Isaac is doing great as of now and makes sure to tell everyone his wish was the best trip ever. The third grader is a skilled gamer and enjoys spending time with his family as much as he can.

For the family, Isaac’s wish was a chance to recenter on the positive and look forward.

We were grateful that during his wish, it felt like he wasn’t sick anymore
