2021 Volunteer Fundraiser Award for Wish Ball Committee

Make-A-Wish Illinois announces Amie Milano of Chicago as the recipient of the 2021 Volunteer Fundraiser Award for the Wish Ball Committee for unique contributions brought to a fundraising campaign.

Wish Ball is the signature event for Make-A-Wish Illinois and Amie has been an important part of helping it grow over the last nine years. A marketing and entertainment professional, Amie’s expertise has helped to make the event one of Chicago’s top charity galas.

“To be able to work with an organization that allows children’s visions to come to life is so meaningful and joyful,” Amie said about why she chose to work with Make-A-Wish.

From her creative input to crafting the program to working with celebrities and coaching wish children for their roles, Amie has a hand in all of the most visible parts of this high profile and important annual fundraiser.

“When Amie came on board the Wish Ball committee, she brought a fresh energy and endless creativity that continues to this day,” said Debbie Purcell, signature events director for Make-A-Wish Illinois. “Her contributions have been so important this last year, especially as she brought her unique talents to the 40 for 40 Auction, an important online event that raised $80,000.”

As a co-chair of the event, Amie joins the Wish Ball committee for new challenge; planning a reimagined Wish Ball experience with the hybrid event planned for June 27, 2021.
