Make-A-Wish Illinois announces Jen Dosch of Lake Villa as the recipient of the 2022 Agile Award recognizing volunteers who have shown tenacity and selflessness in jumping into wishes requiring timely effort and attention due to the wish complexity or medical urgency.
A wish granter since 2011, Dosch has helped 38 local children through their wish journeys. She is now a team leader for a group of six wish discovery expert volunteers, a new position created to help streamline the wish process for newly qualified children and theire families as the organization works through a backlog of wishes delayed due to the pandemic.
Dosch’s work as a team lead for wish discovery volunteers has had an immediate impact, with her team connecting with 17 families in just a few short months to get to know them and explore the possibilities of different wishes.
This role is a natural fit for Dosch, who has been granting wises for years and has extensive community connections in Lake County where she lives. Her connections and enthusiasm help to make each wish she grants unique to the child and creates lasting memories for the whole family.
It’s really been a gift for me to be welcomed into wish families and be a part of their story,” Dosch said. “I’m honored and very thankful for this experience.”
