Cynthia loves animals and has always displayed a certain knack for veterinary medicine.
Her family owns an old Labrador retriever who suffered from joint problems. After doing a bit of research, Cynthia concocted a medicinal ointment for the family pet. Although their dog came away from the treatment confused and greasy, the pep had returned to his step.
In 2018, Cynthia was diagnosed with cancer. Thinking the worst was over in 2021, she planned to go to college in Colorado. Those plans were sidelined by her illness. The doctors felt it was best if she sat out of college for another year. That's when she made her wish.
“Over these past couple of chaotic years, I have reached a decision of what I would like my wish to be. Through many obstacles and unexpected turns of my health, my dream of working with animals has stayed strong. Animals have always brought me peace and comfort through my journey of dealing with cancer. It would be a dream come true to have college tuition paid for to become a Veterinary Technician and Technologist,” Cynthia wrote to Make-A-Wish® Idaho.
Cynthia enrolled online at Penn Foster where she will receive a Vet Tech A.S. degree, and the wish will cover the entire cost of tuition.
