Allie has always had a passion for performing whether she's acting in plays or boosting team spirit as a cheerleader.Â
Allie is a straight-A student who is currently enrolled in college, hoping to earn her associates degree before graduating high school.Â
One day while she was enjoying a meal with her family, she noticed some bumps behind her ear. After several visits to the doctor, she was diagnosed with lymphoma.Â
"It wasn’t until then that I realized how MANY people really cared for me. I was showered with handmade cards and thoughtful gifts, each making me feel so loved. That’s one of the best things that came out of this hard experience. I learned how much love people had in their hearts," Allie said.
She wished for a shopping spree, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, she decided to do it online.
"When I was told that I was getting a wish, nothing else mattered. All the struggles I had been through were put aside as I began picking out items for an online shopping spree. I am so thankful for Make-A-Wish®. It is truly an incredible program that makes dreams come true. It’s been almost a year since my diagnosis as I’m happy to write that cancer is in the past. With the help of family, friends, and Make-A-Wish, I won," she said.Â
