I wish to have a pedicab

Riding in Style and Comfort

Shawn from Twin Falls, Idaho loves many things. He loves Hot Pockets. He loves to control the TV remote, and he loves to go for bicycle rides.

Due to his neuromuscular disorder, Shawn’s grandparents pull him along with a bike trailer during bicycle trips. This system has worked well most of his life, but Shawn is a teenager now, and he’s become too tall for bike trailers which often sit low to the ground. Maneuvering his body to get and out of his bike trailer has caused Shawn discomfort and it only grew worse as he grew taller.

Shawn wished for a pedicab, like the kind one might ride in during a tour of downtown Boise or another large city. Pedicabs are larger and higher off the ground than bike trailers which means that Shawn can get in and out of it without any discomfort.

Pedicabs aren’t readily available at the store in Twin Falls, so Make-A-Wish® Idaho had one specially made. Shawn was given the royal treatment at his wish reveal. Balloons and streamers decorated his yard, and his new pedicab sat polished in the driveway.

Shawn took the inaugural ride in his new conveyance with a big smile on his face and without any discomfort.
